how it works

Step 1:
A Gram Is All We Need

We start with just 1g of fur or 60g of ashes. You’ll receive a full Ossu Collection Kit, complete with easy instructions and everything you need to send us your pet’s sample safely and stress-free. Every sample is individually tracked, never mixed, and handled with the reverence it deserves.

Step 2:
Transformation Free Of Impurities

Once our lab receives your sample, we use chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and high-temperature treatment to extract and concentrate the carbon. This ensures your diamond is born purely from the carbon within your pet — and nothing else.

Step 3:
World Class Precision

Inside a high-vacuum chamber, carbon gas is activated by plasma and deposited layer by layer onto a diamond seed. This allows for superior clarity, customization, and brilliance, without the metal contamination and nitrogen discolouring common in older HPHT methods.

Step 4:
A Diamond Precisely Yours

We 3D-scan, laser cut, and polish each diamond to your specifications: heart cuts, classic rounds, or something completely custom. If your pet’s one-of-a-kind, their diamond should be too.

Certified & Graded before delivered to you

Every Ossu diamond is evaluated by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) to ensure authenticity. Then it’s delivered to your door, ready to hold everything words can’t.

We only need 60 grams (about 2 ounces) of ashes to create your memorial diamond. You’re welcome to send more, but it’s not necessary for the process.

Not necessarily. In most cases, only a portion of the hair or ashes is needed. However, if you prefer that all material be used, we can accommodate this request at no extra cost. Any unused material can be returned or respectfully scattered according to your wishes.

If you don’t have 1g of fur or 60g of ashes, don’t worry. Reach out to us — we’ll evaluate your specific situation. In many cases, fur alone is enough, or we can guide you through mixing hair and other carbon-rich materials (such as toys or clothes) if needed.

Yes. Ossu diamonds are lab-grown diamonds, created using the same carbon structure and process as mined diamonds. Every diamond goes through rigorous grading and is certified by experts like the International Gemological Institute (IGI) to ensure it meets the highest standards of authenticity and quality.

Typically, approximately 3 months from the moment we receive your sample. This includes carbon purification, diamond growth, cutting, certification, and packaging. This is, of course, subject to shipping variables.

The final color of your diamond is influenced by natural variations in your pet’s fur or ashes. We don’t artificially color the stones — each one is a true reflection of its original source, making every diamond uniquely personal.

We take traceability seriously. From the moment we receive your sample, it’s individually labeled, tracked, and handled separately at every stage of the process. Only your pet’s carbon is used to grow your diamond — nothing is ever mixed (unless requested otherwise by you).
